If you can’t find a colour that you want from our standard range of colours, no problem! We also offer a colour matching service – just give us a colour from the PMS scale and we’ll match your vinyl as close as possible to your chosen colour. Please contact a GZ representative for more information on PMS colour matching.

As amazing as coloured vinyl looks, please note, however, that the actual quality of coloured records ( especially those made from solid colours) may have slightly inferior acoustic properties when compared to standard black records. Possible problems include the risk of an increased amount of hiss - especially in the lead-in and lead-out grooves. As a general rule, records pressed on transparent base colours offer a slightly better sound quality than those which are pressed on solid coloured records. This all depends, of course, on many different factors such as the style of music, quality of your audio master and other parameters.
Upon special request, GZ also offers ETCHED VINYL. An etched vinyl is a record with an image etched into a blank side or blank area of your record. Usually there are no grooves containing music/sound on the etched side of the record. Please consult a GZ representative for more information about ETCHED VINYL options.
COLOURED RECORDS WITH SPLATTERS
The base colour can be either solid or transparent . If you want a stronger contrast between the base and splatter colour, we recommend choosing the base colour from our transparent colour range and the splatter colour from our solid colour range. Transparent splatter colours are also nice, but not when selecting a solid base colour (they will usually disappear when being pressed).
There are and endless amount of base colour and splatter colour combinations – so go wild and choose something that suits your record or cover artwork best! You can choose up to 3 colours of splatter when ordering splatter vinyl.
Its also possible to order standard black vinyl with splatters – but please be aware that most of the splatter effect will be lost after pressing – its possible to see some splatter around the central label and some streaks extending from the centre outwards, but generally most of the spatter will be absorbed by the black colour.
Please note, the splatter effect is completely random – every record will look different.
We do not manufacture heavy 7” vinyl with splatters, but 10" and 12" records can be produced in heavy version.
HALF/HALF VINYL
These can be made from a combination of both transparent and solid colours.
COLOUR IN COLOUR VINYL
Colour in colour vinyl is when 1 colour is pressed “inside” of another – please note that the end effect completely depends on the colours that you choose and that we cannot guarantee that the smaller central colour will always be visible on both sides of the record. We recommend choosing high contrasting colours for the best possible effect.
SIDE A/SIDE B EFFECT VINYL
These types of records are generally made from solid colours. The effect is totally random on both sides of the record. We recommend choosing high contrasting colours for maximum effect.
3 COLOUR STRIPED VINYL
These types of records can be made with a combination of both solid and transparent colours.
3 COLOUR SEGMENT VINYL
These types of records can be made with a combination of both solid and transparent colours. Each coloured segment is approx. 120°.
GZ recommendation:
! Be careful which colors you choose – we offer both transparent and solid colors which can react differently when mixed.
MARBLE EFFECT
The marble effect causes the smoke effect on the surface of record. For this type of effect, it is ideal to use the base color light transparent and the color-forming marble effect a dark color.
ETCHED VINYL
An etched vinyl is a record with an image (graphic, band logo, text, etc) etched into a blank side or blank area of your record. Usually there are no grooves containing music/sound on the etched side of the record. Please consult a GZ representative for more information about ETCHED VINYL options.
SCREEN PRINTED VINYL
This type of a record can be made with a combination of any solid or transparent colors using silkscreen print. Artwork is to be supplied 1/0 K with no greyscale gradient or 1/0 Pantone scale color. Artwork size 292 mm max..For printing images we can proceed with special print with a bigger print raster using one color (Rasterized photo print - photo on the right). Vinyl format: 7 , 10 , 12 inch.
